Southeast Kentucky Chamber Hosts Monthly Membership Meeting with ARH’s Dalton Hatfield
PIKEVILLE, KY (December 14, 2023) – The Southeast Kentucky Chamber hosted its Monthly Membership Meeting on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. The meeting featured guest speaker Dalton Hatfield, director of external affairs for Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH).
The meeting was well attended by business leaders and community members, with networking opportunities over a catered lunch.
Dalton Hatfield began his presentation by explaining the importance of ARH’s involvement in the community, emphasizing the importance of external partnerships and collaboration to ensure that ARH is the best community partner it can be. ARH is committed to supporting organizations in the community that they serve.
Dalton then spoke about legislative priorities ARH will advocate for during the upcoming 2024 legislative session in Frankfort. Issues discussed included securing adequate funding for behavioral health treatment in the Eastern Kentucky region, keeping the Certificate of Need authorization program in place for Kentucky, protecting sepsis patients, and advocating for regulations with free-standing birthing centers. “We host our monthly membership meetings to be both informative and to provide a regular opportunity for our members to network. In the lead up to the next session of the General Assembly, it’s important to learn about the legislative priorities of our members why those priorities are important to our region,” said Jordan Gibson, president and CEO of the Southeast Kentucky Chamber. “Hearing from Dalton about the need to support the Certificate of Need authorization process effects every resident in Kentucky, especially here in rural communities.”
