Reports To: Kitchen Manager / Executive Director
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and friendly Cook/Aide to assist with meal preparation, serving, and daily kitchen operations. This position helps ensure residents receive quality meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
The ideal candidate is dependable, patient, positive, and able to work well with residents and other team members. A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
Responsibilities

Review daily menus and prepare meals according to approved menus and recipes.

Follow special and therapeutic diet requirements as directed.

Prepare and serve meals to residents.

Set up meal trays, food carts, and dining areas.

Clear dining areas and transport dishes and utensils to the washing area.

Assist with food preparation for special meals, events, and parties.

Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining environment.

Clean work areas, refrigerators/freezers, equipment, tables, and other kitchen areas.

Properly dispose of food and waste according to facility procedures.

Follow all food safety, sanitation, and facility policies.

Attend required staff meetings and in-service training.

Work cooperatively with kitchen staff and other departments to meet the needs of our residents.

Assist with training new dietary staff as assigned.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Executive Director.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work well with residents, coworkers, and families.
