Southeast Kentucky Chamber Welcomes McDowell Professional Pharmacy As Newest Member

PIKEVILLE, KY (November 8, 2023) – The Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce McDowell Professional Pharmacy as its newest member.  A membership plaque was presented to the business by Membership Development Manager, Jamie VanHoose, on Friday, November 3, 2023.

McDowell Professional Pharmacy serves the community by providing over-the-counter medicine and health aids, as well as filling prescriptions. The business also brings special focus to diabetes education and advocacy; they can even assist with diabetic shoe fittings. 

McDowell Professional Pharmacy was started in 1993 by Steve and Alicia Dawson, and over the years the business has grown to its current staff of 17.  Approaching the business with a spirit of service and passion for helping others has been the key to their success. The pharmacy is family-oriented, not just with their staff, but also with their customers, going so far as to deliver prescriptions to Floyd and Knott County residents who may have mobility issues.

“We want to be a blessing to other people,” said Owner Alicia Dawson. “We live here, we work here.  We love being able to serve our community.”
