Southeast Kentucky Chamber Welcomes Appalachian Community Care As Newest Member

PIKEVILLE, KY (October 13, 2023) – The Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce Appalachian Community Care as its newest member. The Chamber presented the organization with a membership plaque on October 12, 2023.
 
Appalachian Community Care is a mental health organization focusing on therapy for children and adults, as well as supporting harm reduction for those with substance abuse issues. Accepting most insurances, and with clients as young as 4 years old ranging to as old as 100, Appalachian Community Care’s goal is to provide people with resources to lead successful lives.
 
“We love our community. We believe in what we do, and we want to help,” remarked Appalachian Community Care staff member Angie Alvin. “We’re here for people who want help and want a better future for themselves and their families.”
 
“We are thrilled to welcome Appalachian Community Care as members,” said President & CEO of the Southeast Kentucky Chamber, Jordan Gibson. “The care and service they provide to the community is essential.”
 
The mental health organization has four convenient locations spread throughout the Southeast Kentucky Region: Coal Run Village, Town Mountain, Whitesburg, and Harlan. They provide talk therapy as well as other individualized therapy techniques. For children, they offer play therapy as a great way to provide healing and therapist-child interaction. There are also case managers who help clients find jobs, apply for housing assistance, and even help clients obtain a GED.
