Southeast Kentucky Chamber Partners with Pikeville Rotary Club to Host Luncheon with Sen. McConnell

PIKEVILLE, KY (July 3, 2024)—The Southeast Kentucky Chamber partnered with the Pikeville Rotary Club on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, to host a special luncheon at the Overlook Events Center in Pikeville. The luncheon featured guest speaker, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. The luncheon was held as one of the Rotary Club’s weekly meetings and was opened to all members of the Southeast Kentucky Chamber.

More than 120 people attended the luncheon, including local business leaders, Rotarians, Chamber Members, as well as members of the media.

Pikeville Rotary Club President Novella Froman opened the meeting and welcomed everyone to the luncheon. Mrs. Froman then introduced Rakesh Sachdeva who provided an introduction for Senator Mitch McConell. Mr. Sachdeva noted in his introduction that Senator McConnell is the longest serving senator in American history, as well as a childhood survivor of the poliovirus. Rotary International leads the effort in global poliovirus eradication.

Senator McConnell spoke to the group about various issues our country is currently facing, and offered several solutions to help heal the divisiveness we are experiencing in our country and in our state. After Senator McConnell’s speech, he provided groups and individuals with an opportunity for one-on-one conversation and photo opportunities.
