Southeast Kentucky Chamber partners with Eastern Telephone for webinar focused on cyber security
Pikeville, KY (January 8, 2021) – At a time when businesses and employees are operating remotely, cyber security tops the list as a high priority for companies and individuals. For this reason, the Southeast Kentucky Chamber and Eastern Telephone and Technologies have partnered to host a webinar focused on keeping businesses and employees safe online.
The Cyber Security 101 Webinar is designed with individuals working from home as a result of of the Covid-19 pandemic in mind.
"With cyber-attacks in the national headlines, now would be a great time to learn about the basics of cyber security,” said Cory Weatherford, managed services director for Eastern Telephone. “Spending a few minutes in the Chamber cyber security webinar will give anyone some simple tips that can make yourself, staff, or business safer from malicious cyber-attacks.”
Even if you have little knowledge or awareness of cyber security, Weatherford encourages you to attend the webinar, which is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Thursday, January 21.
“Don't be overwhelmed by all the media cyber stories, this webinar should provide basic 101 cyber security knowledge, and ‘tech’ knowledge will not be necessary for this presentation," said Weatherford.
Southeast Kentucky Chamber President and CEO Jordan Gibson also encourages business owners, and businesses with a digital presence to attend the webinar.
“We understand that businesses have shifted their focus to online and remote,” said Gibson. “We’re hoping this webinar will provide some much-needed information to safeguard businesses and protect individuals from cyber-attacks such as hacking.”
The webinar is free to any current Chamber members, and only $5 for non-chamber members. For more information, or to register for the webinar, visit www.sekchamber.com, or contact Josh Little at 606.432.5504 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
