Southeast Kentucky Chamber Hosts Membership Meeting With Pikeville City Manager Reggie Hickman

PIKEVILLE, KY (November 14, 2023) – The Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce hosted its Monthly Membership Meeting in the Garfield House at 178 College Street in Pikeville on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. The meeting featured guest speaker, Reggie Hickman, Pikeville’s newly appointed City Manager.

The meeting was well attended with business leaders, community members, and members of the media present.

This was Mr. Hickman’s first speaking engagement in his position as City Manager. The style of this meeting was a “fireside chat,” allowing ample time to address questions that the audience had and to initiate the conversation between local government and business in Pikeville. Mr. Hickman gave opening remarks about his background and several city issues that should be addressed, such as growing and expanding existing businesses and parking turnover in downtown Pikeville. He then opened the floor for questions, explaining that their input and feedback would help him mold and shape his vision for the City of Pikeville.

“We’re grateful to Reggie and to our members who came to November’s Meeting,” said Southeast Kentucky Chamber President & CEO, Jordan Gibson. “We’re excited about the collaboration that took place today between city government and local businesses. I’m looking forward to seeing how we’re able to collaborate and grow, not only Pikeville, but the region.”
