Southeast Kentucky Chamber and Eastern Telephone host webinar focused on cyber security
Pikeville, KY (February 4, 2021) – In January, the Southeast Kentucky Chamber and Eastern Telephone and Technologies partnered to host a webinar focused on keeping businesses and employees safe online.
The Cyber Security 101 Webinar was designed with individuals working from home, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, in mind.
"With cyber-attacks in the national headlines, now would be a great time to learn about the basics of cyber security,” said Cory Weatherford, managed services director for Eastern Telephone.
The webinar provided some basic information those working from home could use to maintain online safety. Weatherford also shared information with attendees regarding dark web scans and test phishing emails, services of which Eastern Telephone & Technologies provides for businesses.
Southeast Kentucky Chamber President and CEO Jordan Gibson said he believes those on the call gained valuable information that will help to keep their businesses and employees safe.
“We understand that businesses have shifted their focus to online and remote,” said Gibson. “Through this partnership with Eastern Telephone & Technologies, we were able to provide some much-needed information to safeguard businesses and protect individuals from cyber-attacks and scams.”
