Shining Stars Daycare Celebrates Grand Opening with Southeast Kentucky Chamber
JENKINS, KY — The Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce proudly joined community leaders, families, and Chamber members on Friday, May 1, to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of Shining Stars Daycare, a new childcare center serving families in Jenkins and the surrounding area.
The event welcomed guests and allowed them to experience refreshments from nearby Coal City Coffee, tours of the newly opened facility, and a fun-filled evening with special appearances by Elmo and Mickey Mouse. The celebration highlighted not only the opening of a new business but a meaningful investment in the future of the community with leaders from SmileFaith Foundation, SOAR, and Pine Mountain Partnership also in attendance.
Shining Stars Daycare is now enrolling children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. The facility will operate Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 7:00 to 5:00 PM, with rates starting at $45 per week.
The new daycare addresses a critical need in the region, helping expand access to reliable, affordable childcare, an essential component of workforce development and family stability in Eastern Kentucky.
Shining Stars Daycare is the third program established by the SmileFaith Foundation in the Jenkins area, joining SmileFaith Dentistry and Coal City Coffee as part of the organization’s growing mission to serve the community.
SmileFaith CEO Sherri Paules was in attendance and shared her enthusiasm for the new venture. “SmileFaith is here to serve the community, and that starts with families. We are so happy to be here, in Jenkins, doing what we set out to do in serving the community,” said Paules.
The Southeast Kentucky Chamber celebrates the continued investment in local communities and is proud to support initiatives like Shining Stars Daycare that strengthen families and support economic growth across the region.
