John Blackburn retires from First Commonwealth Bank

John celebrates his retirement after nearly 44 years of banking. John joined First Commonwealth Bank in 2011 as Vice President Pike County Market. He previously was President and CEO of Family Bank from 1995-2011. John is a graduate of Pikeville College and The School of Banking of the South at LSU.

​Not only has John served the customers of First Commonwealth Bank, but he has continued to serve his community through numerous civic activities. He is currently involved with Sandy Valley Habitat where he serves as a board member and Zebulon Church of Christ where he is Treasurer. He is an active member of the Southeast Chamber of Commerce and has served on its board and is a Past Chairman for the Chamber. John has also served on boards for the Pike County Board of Education, CEDAR (Coal Education Development and Resources), and the Kentucky Banker's Association. He served as President for the Central Kentucky Savings League in 2004-2005 and the Kentucky Thrift Association in 2005-2006.

​A retirement reception will be held in his honor on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the First Commonwealth Bank Pikeville Branch from 2-4 pm.
