As an installer and service technician you will work with our loyal customer base and new clients to provide them with the quality, integrity, and reliability they have come to expect from us. No job is too large or small as you represent the 50-year brand that is B&B Heating and Cooling. Your job is to satisfy our customers in a timely, professional, courteous manner always.
Duties
· Install HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and mechanical systems according to schematics and HVAC design specifications
· Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventative care on HVAC systems to ensure optimal operation and energy efficiency
· Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and conduct electrical system repairs or adjustments
· Repair or replace defective components in HVAC systems, including compressors, fans, motors, valves, and controls
· Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and building automation system diagrams to facilitate accurate installation and repairs
· Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems as needed, ensuring proper connections and leak prevention
· Provide excellent customer service by explaining system issues clearly and recommending appropriate solutions
· Ensure all work adheres to local building codes, EPA standards, and safety regulations.
The Following Skills/Knowledge Are a Plus
· Construction experience with knowledge of building codes and safety standards
· Proven service technician experience with HVAC system repair and maintenance
· Strong understanding of schematics, HVAC design principles, and mechanical systems repair
· Familiarity with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration
· Electrical diagnostics skills for troubleshooting electrical systems within HVAC units
· Mechanical knowledge of HVAC/R equipment installation and repair processes
· Proficiency with hand tools, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic instruments
· Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and electrical systems integration
· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicle safely
· EPA Section 608 certification for refrigerant handling; knowledge of environmental regulations related to refrigerants
· Ability to work independently in the field performing equipment troubleshooting and repairs on-site
· Strong communication skills combined with a customer-focused approach to service delivery
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
