SUMMARY:2013 Links for Learning Golf Tournament
DESCRIPTION:The Links for Learning Golf Scramble began in 2008. In five years\, the Chamber has raised over $50\,000 for the Chamber's Foundation for Education\, an endowment fund for education in the region.\n\n\n\n The Foundation is governed by an independent Education Foundation Committee. Throughout atwo month application period in the fall\, any teacher or administrator in any of the eight county\, Independent or Private school systems were able to contact the Chamber and fill out an application for whatever needs they may have for their classrooms (books\, technology\, lab equipment\, etc.).\n\n\n\n The Chamber's Foundation for Education has awarded $25\,000 in grants to schools throughout the region\, including $5\,000 ($1\,250 each) in grants awarded in February 2013 to Beaver Creek Elementary\, Phelps Elementary\, Pikeville High School\, and Shelby Valley High School after an advanced application process.\n\n\n\n Each year the Chamber fulfills as many of these requests as possible with the money that is raised at the golf scramble\, so support from all members is encouraged and appreciated\, not only by Chamber members\, but indirectly by the students from the region.\n\n\n\n The Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce would also like to thank the Links for Learning Golf Scramble sponsors Speaker\, Greg Stumbo\; Senator Ray S. Jones\; Senator\, Johnny Ray Turner\; Representative Leslie Combs\; Representative W.
